The goal of this book, written by a licensed psychologist whos also an ordained Catholic priest, is to clarify the position of the Catholic Church on same-sex attraction homosexuality. The provocative book attempts to present truth with charity, understanding and kindness and show compassion to all people to clear up misunderstanding and confusion on the gay lifestyle in society and within the church itself, as well as clergy. The author also presents a case for the virtue of chastity, both inside and outside, and its beauty.
Catholicism and Same Sex Attraction examines the Catholic catechism and official church documents and their views on homosexuality, as well as the theological, psychological and social consequences of same-sex behavior. The author delves into life-changing questions: Can someone be homosexual and a practicing Catholic at the same time? Can gays really hear Catholic teaching? And is morality generational or innate? As with many weighty questions, not all have a clear-cut answer. The author uses church teachings, statistics and studies to back up his claims, showing his compassion and experience in ministering to people with same-sex attraction and his desire to help lead them to a life with Christ.
